Carrara's design stands out in the world of wine logos. The logo, designed for an event in Montalcino, Italy, evokes the world of wine and the long aging process. It features two red ribbons spiraling upwards, symbolizing the time spent aging towards the excellence of a vintage Brunello wine. The logo's design process involved a hand-drawing study to identify the exact curvature and shape of a red wine glass, followed by computer graphics to bring the design to life.
The logo's adaptability is another of its strengths. It can be used in its extended form or as an icon for apps and social networks. The logo also has variations for use on different background colors, including red. This adaptability was achieved after an in-depth study and is a testament to the logo's versatility and the designer's attention to detail.
The design process, which began in January 2019 in Bergamo and concluded in February 2019 in Montalcino, involved extensive research. Carrara studied the elements and colors necessary for recognizing a wine event and ensured the logo's uniqueness. The logo sketch was submitted to experts, wine amateurs, and visual communication professionals before finalizing the design.
Designing a unique and original logo for a wine event was a challenge due to the many existing logos and the specificity of the subject. The logo needed to evoke the wine's essential nature and the event's international appeal. Despite these challenges, Carrara successfully designed a logo that not only evokes wine but also its peculiarity of being a prized wine.
Long Live Brunello was awarded the Golden A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award in 2019.
